Computer Simulation and Analysis
The ability to foresee and avoid problems as early as possible is crucial to completing projects on time. GRT-Mars has invested heavily in advanced simulation tools that allow us to predict both mechanical and performance problems before any tooling is begun. Our tools include:
Ansys Version 8.0
Ansys allows us to simulate how parts and assemblies will react under loading, temperature variations, vibration, and similar stresses. Ansys is widely considered the top analysis package in the world, and gives us capabilities that include linear and non-linear structural analysis, allowing us to model small deformations, large deformations, and contact analyses.
Moldflow
GRT-Mars is one of the pioneers in injection molding simulation. We have been experts in the technologies for almost fifteen years, and have worked with major software development groups to help hone their products.
Moldflow allows us to see what happens inside the mold during the injection molding process. It is critical in designing the mold so that the parts will be easily moldable, and meet performance and aesthetic requirements. We can see weld line locations, clamp force, temperature profiles, differential shrinkage rates, dimensional stability and other parameters that give us the insight to understand how the part will be molded. We run a Moldflow analysis on almost all plastic parts that we manufacture, and find that it adds value and confidence to our mold design and plastic manufacturing processes.

Spice
Electronic circuits can be analyzed using our Spice emulation software. This allows GRT-Mars engineers to see how tolerance stack up, environmental conditions, and other factors affect electronic performance, and adjust the design where necessary.
