Component Sourcing and Cost Reduction
GRT-Mars has an organized and concerted effort to offer our customers continuous cost improvement. Electronics is a rapidly advancing field, and with that there are always opportunities to take advantage of new components and techniques, as well as opportunities to take advantage of price reductions on older components as they become more mature.
Our engineers regularly evaluate all of the products we manufacture to push for potential cost reductions. These options are then presented to our customers for their evaluation, and if they are acceptable they are integrated into the product and prices reduced.
These changes can include improving manufacturing techniques, looking at alternate materials, aggressively sourcing from multiple vendors, combining purchases of common components with other vendors, reclassifying products to reduce import duties, and consolidating shipments to reduce freight charges.
It is difficult to find new customers. So it is at the core of our strategy to bend over backwards to give exceptional service and, most importantly, value.
